Nonprofit website and admin help in Morris County, NJ
Russ to the Rescue helps small nonprofits in Morris County, New Jersey, with their websites, volunteer scheduling, donor thank-yous and everyday admin. I'm Russ Greene, I live in Mendham, and I build custom tools around how your team already works, at a fixed price, with in-person meetings anywhere around the county.
Texts come straight to my phone.
Who do I help in Morris County?
Small and mid-size nonprofits without an IT person, where everyone wears several hats. The person updating the website is often also paying the bills and planning the spring fundraiser.
That covers a lot of the county's community life: food pantries and hunger relief programs, historical societies and historic sites, watershed and land trust groups, community theaters and arts organizations, animal rescues, youth sports leagues, library friends groups and service clubs, and congregations running community programs. Small community organizations and local businesses with similar needs are welcome too.
What do local nonprofits ask for help with?
The chores are different in every organization, but they rhyme:
- Websites that are out of date because only one person knows how to change them. See nonprofit websites.
- Volunteer scheduling, like texting down a list to fill Saturday's shifts. See volunteer scheduling.
- Donor thank-yous that go out weeks late, with gift records in three places. See donor thank-yous.
- Board packets that take two days to put together.
- Grant reports where the numbers get pulled at the last minute.
- Equipment, files and collections that nobody can find, from cameras to archives.
Every build is custom. A food pantry's version of "volunteer scheduling" looks nothing like a theater's, and I start from how your team works today.
Can we meet in person?
Yes. I live in Mendham, and I'm happy to come to your office, your site or a coffee shop, around Mendham, Morristown and the rest of Morris County, including Chester, Randolph, Denville, Madison and Parsippany. If you'd rather talk by phone or video first, that's fine too.
Seeing how the work actually happens, the binder by the front desk or the whiteboard in the back room, often tells me more than any form could.
I also work with nonprofits outside Morris County remotely.
How did I get started here?
By volunteering with Mendham TV, our local community television nonprofit. I saw a dedicated team spending too much of its energy on admin, so I built a treasury that runs itself, equipment check-out, a media archive and a back end for the board. That work is where Russ to the Rescue began. More about me.
What does it cost?
The first 30-minute chat is free, and so is the one-page plan. Builds are a fixed price, starting at $1,000 for a first system, and optional support is $500 a month, cancel anytime. See pricing.
Many foundations fund capacity-building work like this, and I can help you describe it for a funding request.
Why work with someone local?
- You can reach me. I answer my own phone, and I'm glad to come to your office.
- I know the setting. Morris County nonprofits share a lot: volunteer-heavy programs, small staffs, grant reporting, and boards made up of busy neighbors.
- It's easy to check in. If something isn't working, it's a short drive or a quick text to sort it out.

No. Morris County is where I meet people in person. I work with nonprofits anywhere by phone and video.

No. All-volunteer groups are welcome. If a free tool will solve your problem, I'll tell you, even if that means there's nothing for me to build.

Yes. I'm glad to give a short, free talk on saving admin time, with no sales pitch.
