Hi, I'm Russ
I'm Russ Greene, and I build custom tools that take the everyday admin off small nonprofits' plates, so their people get time back for the mission. I live in Mendham, New Jersey, and I've spent more than 20 years in technology and business operations.
Before this, I started and ran more than half a dozen businesses of my own. In each one, I handled the operations, administration, strategy and growth: the behind-the-scenes work that keeps a small organization running. Over two decades I've watched technology change again and again, and I've seen what happens when a team adopts the right tools in the right way. The busywork shrinks, and people get to focus on what they're good at.
Texts come straight to my phone.

How did this start?
It started with volunteering. When I joined Mendham TV, our local community television nonprofit, I saw a dedicated team spending too much of its energy just keeping the lights on: tracking money, keeping up with equipment, finding old footage and getting the board what it needed.
So I started building. A treasury that runs itself. Equipment check-out. A media archive. A back end for the board. Hours that used to go to admin went back to the mission, which for Mendham TV means making community television.
That's when I realized how many small nonprofits are in the same spot, and that the fix is rarely a big software purchase. It's usually a few well-made tools that fit how the team already works.
I believe in giving back to the community, and I think there's so much more we can do to help local organizations grow. Technology is changing faster than ever, and that's a real opportunity for small teams, local businesses and nonprofits, as long as it's put to work for people. Helping our community thrive feels more important right now than ever.
What do I believe?
- Every build is custom. I start from how your team works today, not from a product I'm trying to sell. When a good tool you already have fits, I'll set it up and connect it rather than reinvent it.
- People first. The tools take the repetitive work, so your staff and volunteers have more time for the people you serve. Nothing I build is meant to replace anyone.
- A person checks what goes out in your name. If AI drafts a thank-you note, an email or a newsletter, someone on your team reads it before it's sent. Automatic reminders and confirmations use set wording, so they can go out on their own.
- You own everything. Your accounts, your data, your tools. Everything runs without me, with a handover guide anyone can follow.
- Plain English, always. If it needs a glossary, I rewrite it. And if something doesn't need AI, I'll tell you.
What is it like to work with me?
- I answer my own phone. Text or call (908) 340-7626, and you'll get me, not a call center.
- I'll come to you. I'm happy to meet at your office anywhere around Morris County, or we can talk by phone or video, whatever's easiest.
- No jargon, no pressure. The first chat is free, and you'll leave with ideas you can use whether or not we work together.
- The price we agree on is the price you pay. Builds are a fixed price, and your one-page plan spells it out before any work starts. See pricing.
Outside of work
I'm raising a young family here in Mendham, and I love this community. Watching my kids grow, I want them to inherit strong local organizations, with plenty of places to volunteer, get hands-on experience and discover what excites and motivates them. Helping the nonprofits around us run well is one small way to build that.
Let's talk
Tell me what's hard. Text me, and we'll find 30 minutes to talk, at your office, by phone or by video.
